Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
1. Introduction
Security Alert NY ("we", "us", "our") operates an internal customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning application (the "App") used exclusively by employees and authorized personnel of Security Alert NY for the purpose of managing security camera and alarm installation operations. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information processed by the App.
2. Scope
The App is not intended for use by the general public. Access is restricted to authenticated Security Alert NY employees and contractors. By accessing the App, you acknowledge that you are an authorized user.
3. Information We Collect
The App stores information necessary to operate Security Alert NY's business, including:
- User account information: name, email address, role within the company
- Customer information entered by employees: name, address, phone number, email, notes
- Job and project information: scheduling, equipment, work history, photographs
- Equipment credentials: usernames and passwords for installed devices (encrypted at rest)
- Activity logs of actions performed within the App for audit purposes
4. How We Use Information
All information is used solely to operate Security Alert NY's business: scheduling jobs, coordinating installer activities, managing customer relationships, tracking equipment, and maintaining records required for compliance and quality assurance. We do not use any information for advertising, marketing, or any third-party purpose.
5. Data Storage and Security
Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase. Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Equipment credentials are additionally encrypted at rest using AES encryption with a separate application key. Role-based access controls restrict which employees can view which records, and the App enforces row-level security at the database layer.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share information with third parties for marketing or advertising. Information may be processed by the following service providers solely to operate the App:
- Supabase (database, authentication, file storage)
- Vercel (application hosting)
- OpenAI (limited AI assistant functionality; no customer PII is intentionally transmitted)
- Google Maps Platform (address geocoding and map display)
Information may also be disclosed if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Security Alert NY, its employees, or its customers.
7. Permissions Used by the Mobile App
The Android version of the App may request the following device permissions to provide its functionality:
- Internet: required to communicate with our servers
- Phone (tel: links): optional, to allow tapping a phone number to start a call from the App
- Location: not currently requested; map functionality uses pre-geocoded addresses, not the user's live location
8. Data Retention
Records are retained for as long as needed to operate the business and meet legal or regulatory requirements. Deleted records are soft-deleted and removed from view, with an administrative restore window. Administrators may permanently delete records at any time.
9. Your Rights
Authorized users may request access to or correction of their own account information by contacting an administrator at Security Alert NY. Because the App stores business records, users do not have the right to delete records that belong to the company.
10. Children
The App is for use by adult employees and contractors only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to authorized users via the App or by email.
